My most memorable vacations as a child were trips to a local lake and camping out in a large family tent, fishing, swimming, and occasionally boating. These were wonderful times of togetherness and experienceing the outdoors.

As a family of 6 with a special needs child, family vacations are few and far between. Living close to the ocean, a simple hour enjoying God's mighty power at the SF coast gives each family member a successful "vacation" and is loads of fun.

My best family memories are of going camping in National or State Parks throughout the country. Those were fun times! No TV, no telephones, just the family, some card games or simply talking to one another.

One of our best vacations with our family was our fishing trip where we never got around to the fishing. We set up camp and went off exploring the area around us. We learned about the trees, we followed paths to see where they led. We followed streams to see where they went. Watched a cow grazing in the grass. We never fished the whole 3 days we were there because we had so much fun doing whatever we flike rather then what we were expected to do. No schedule, no clock, no expectations; just FUN, learning together, and spending good quality time talking to each other about anything and everything
