Thank you for affirming the lasting value of a clear sense of calling to the ministry! I am discouraged when I hear so many entering ministry without this sense of divine call because I know they will face the tough times you describe.

You sound nailed it on the head. I've been part of the "church" all of my life, and I've seen many leaders burn out, or burn up because of the imbalances. Thankfully my pastor, Erwin W Lutzer (a friend of yours) demonstrates wonderful balance to us who are privileged to call him our Shepherd.
